Here is the deal, you have to eat fat to lose fat and boost testosterone levels in your body.
What???? Your momma warned you to stay away from fattening foods!
I’m here to tell you that your momma was wrong. Fats are good for your body as long as you eat the right kind.
I am writing this article to help you and others boost testosterone levels and increase the quality of your lives.
If you are suffering from low testosterone production in your body then your way of life has changed from when you were 20 years old. Am, I correct? I am pretty sure I am, because I have been there and I know there is a huge difference from when I was 20 and then 36 with low testosterone levels.
It wasn’t until I was 36 that I decided to try a testosterone supplement for the sake of having a child with my wife.
A few of the biggest things I discovered were I needed to change my diet and work out differently. Then and only then, my body was ready to take on a supplement for boosting testosterone.
Here is My Diet Guide Click here…..Testosterone Diet Guide- Eat The Right Things At The Right Time
What I found out after extensive research is, my diet was wrong. I have struggled with weight on and off since childhood, even to the extent of being called hog jaws.
My research showed me the role of fat. Eating fat to lose fat and boost testosterone, to be more specific. After I started to eat fat, the good kind, I started to lose my body fat more efficiently and noticed a remarkable increase in energy. Then I started using a natural testosterone supplement and the rest is history.
The three macro-nutrients for a healthy diet are protein, carbohydrates, and fat. Again like I said before, fat for many years has gotten a bad rap. Fat does wonders for your diet and for raising your testosterone levels.
For the sake of this article I will refer the fat I discuss as dietary fat. Dietary fat is fat you will consume for energy, fat loss, and increases in testosterone levels.
Body fat is not dietary fat, it is the fat in your body that it stores for a rainy day. It is not good.
Eat fat to lose fat and increase testosterone- The good and bad fats for you to be aware of
The four kinds of fat are, Monounsaturated, Polyunsaturated, Saturated, and Trans Fats.
Monounsaturated Fats
Monounsaturated fats, are fats found in oils and are usually a liquid at room temp and solid when chilled. These fats are known for being heart healthy. Bad cholesterol is broken down by consuming these fats. This type is also great for diabetes, can arthritis. Included in these fats is olive oil which has been known to assist in saving lean muscle in the body.
Monounsaturated fats:
- Olive Oil
- Canola Oil
- Nuts
- Sesame Oil
- Sunflower Oil
- Dark Chocolate
- Peanut Butter
Polyunsaturated Fats
Polyunsaturated fats are commonly known to be plant based fat or can be in the form of fatty fish products.. These types of fats help to increase blood cholesterol levels and combat heart disease.
But, if you are looking to increase testosterone levels, this type of fat will prohibit the production of natural testosterone. So, consume very little.
Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids are considered polyunsaturated fats. They are great for joint inflammation, your complexion, arthritis pain and preventing cancer.
Also known as a brain stimulator, they have been shown to combat mental disorders like ADD, depression and schizophrenia.
Polyunsaturated Fats:
- Fatty Fish
- Flax Seed
- Pumpkin Seeds
- Corn Oil
- Safflower Oil
- Soybean Oil
- Sesame Seeds
- Soy
- Tofu
Saturated Fats (Ideal for Testosterone)
Most commonly found in red meats, dairy, and chicken, saturated fats can increase cholesterol.
Although this type of fat is not as healthy as others, many make the mistake of not eating saturated fats and replace them with carbohydrates that will spike your insulin levels and convert to fat in your body. This will do more harm than good for your body fat levels.
This forbidden fat has been shown to be more beneficial than we all thought.
Saturated fats have been scientifically studied and shown to boost bad cholesterol but increase your testosterone increasing cholesterol or good cholesterol in even greater amounts.
So, increasing both your bad and good cholesterol even more will balance the bad out of the unhealthy zone and makes them beneficial to consume.
Beef is one of the best foods filled with monounsaturated fats, and half the fats found in beef is monounsaturated fat which is found in olive oils and avocados.
Saturated Fats to Consume for Testosterone
- Palm Oils
- Beef
- Pork
- Lamb
- Chicken
- Butter
- Cheese
- Eggs (Especially the Yolks)
- Whole Fat Dairy
Trans Fats
Trans Fats are the worst of the worst and you need to stay away from these.
They are known to raise your bad cholesterol and lower your good, leaving you with risks of serious diseases.
Unfortunately, these are the good tasting ones and the addictive ones we all love.
There is not much more to say about these fats but, “STAY AWAY FROM THEM”.
Saturated Fats That Can Endanger Your Life and Shorten Your Life
- Candy
- Candy Bars
- Doughnuts
- Cakes
- Cookies
- Margarine
- Chips
- Crackers
Look on the back of the product label for trans fats. If you must have them, only have a little. Partially hydrogenated is another word to watch out for.
Junk foods are just that, Junk. If you want your testosterone levels to be junk then eat junk and you will do just that, decrease your levels and increase your risk for heart disease, obesity, a heart attack and strokes.
What to do With These Fats
Now that you have a summary of the 4 kinds of fat, here are the recommendations of what to do with what fats.
When consuming fat in your diet to increase testosterone, lose weight, increase lean muscle, decrease your risk for heart disease and increase your energy levels, shoot for about 30% to 35% of your daily calories from fat.
The Saturated fats, I explained, increase both your bad and good levels of cholesterol and should be about 5% to 10% of the total fats you consume daily.
The rest of your fat intake should come from Monounsaturated fats.
Like I said before, Polyunsaturated Fats are great for your body and many functions but they will lower your testosterone levels.
So, for the best way to increase your testosterone levels, you should consume the saturated.
Now, I know when I talk about adding cholesterol to your body, it goes against the golden rule of lowering your cholesterol.
If you are normally healthy and don’t have problems with your levels, then the chances of a moderate increase of these fats harming your body are very low. Although, the chances of increasing your testosterone are very good.
Summary
Adding Saturated and Monounsaturated fats to your diet will increase your chances of increasing your testosterone levels. Remember you should eat fat to lose fat and increase testosterone.
This is due to these types of fats helping your body to drop body fat and raising cholesterol, which is the building block of testosterone.
A couple of things to help you increase your testosterone levels even more would be to start a fitness plan and take a natural testosterone supplement to even increase your levels more efficiently.

Hi Mark,
Absolutely outstanding blog and article. fat does get a bad rap as does cholesterol. People need to understand cholesterol is good for them as it is the building blocks of testosterone which is essential for both men and women for a healthy lifestyle.
One of the leading problems about eating animal fats to boost testosterone today is that the cows and pigs are often injected with estrogen to fatten them up quicker. Meaning meat like beef or pork for example are actually best avoided unless grass fed or organic.
Great article.
Thank You Derek,
You are right on point and I thank you for that. The injections many of the animals get today are concerning and that is another reason more and more men are suffering from low levels of testosterone. Just the point of knowing this is the first step to fixing this problem.
Thank You Again
A very good and informative article on how to eat fat to lose fat. There is a lot of information out there these days about low carb high fat, and about warrior diets and so forth, it’s hard to know which is best. But after reading this, you make a great case.
I thought high fat was for weight loss, but it also impacts testosterone?
Yes you are correct! The thing is many people think that increasing testosterone is just for muscle freaks and bodybuilders but it is also used to recover a healthy living lifestyle. The word is out for many but not nearly enough men are aware that their levels may be dropping.. It is hard to say and harder to understand hearing it for the first time but after we understand it, it is easy to see that fat is necessary in our diets.
Thanks for your reply and have a great day.
